The Sun - False Stories

On Tuesday my PR representatives were asked by the Sun Newspaper whether a watch I had given to Alex Reid was now being worn be Leandro Penna. They referred to a picture of Leandro wearing a watch on twitter as evidence. My PR representatives made very clear that this claim was not true; that the watch that Leandro was wearing belonged to him (and had for some time); that I had not given him Alex's watch; and that I had not given him any watch.

On Wednesday the Sun ran an article on page 3 of their paper and online with the heading 'Watch it Jordan Alex Reid Fury as Katie Price's New Man Mears His Watch'. They published (APPARENTLY AS EVIDENCE) a picture of Leandro from twitter and a picture of Alex's watch. Even though it can be clearly seen with the naked eye that they are different, this did not stop them making their false claims and neither did them being told the story was false.

While they removed the article the same day when they realised their position was not sustainable, they have refused to correct it.

On Thursday my PR representatives were asked by the Sun whether I had asked Leandro to marry him. They were told that this was not true. Their headline today is 'Jordan's Marriage Proposal'. Clearly more concerned with writing what they feel is an amusing article than worrying about any facts this story claims that: I have begged Leandro to marry me; accused me of being drunk; and of 'throwing-up'. All so they can sarcastically publish their line that Leandro must have dreamed of 'a proposal from an imbecile smelling of booze, burgers and puke'.

I am sure that there are plenty of things that I do wrong that can be written about  if that is the paper's agenda but it is a sign of complete disrespect for their readers that the Sun would rather just make stories up. It is just ridiculous.

I have not asked Leandro to marry me. We are only just getting to know each other and he is a very good man. As was reported accurately elsewhere, at this stage it is simply light-hearted fun with a really nice guy.  We live on opposite sides of the world but we are going to try to spend some time together and see what happens.
